Shiemi had enough experience at Fandom that she was sure something had only messed up and somehow she was in the wrong place, so she wasn't too worried. It happened all the time to other people! There were lots of other worlds out there. She knew personally, now. Lots and lots.
In trying to get home from Fandom for the this break, the keys had not done their job. Finally she'd spent her hard earned money and booked a Portal. She'd been assured that she would be home before she knew it. In reality, she’d been shuttled through several portals and waiting rooms and arrived ‘home’ to find it was two months after the Training Camp for her ExWire team.
A weekend of camping in a forest filled with minor demons and sacred artifacts, Camp was supposed to be a chance to help new ExWires learn to work together as a team as well as build on their individual exorcist skills.
All of this had, of course, happened TWO YEARS AGO for Shiemi.
"I mean, if all else fails I can just call someone from Fandom to come get me. Then we can go to the Portal place and get one to my real world." Her personal peptalk echoed through yet another empty corridor, and Shiemi wondered if maybe she should have tried looking for everyone at the dorm instead of the Cram School. The mission email she had received upon arriving had mentioned a train to Kyoto but nothing else, so she’d wanted to ask some questions. Only no one was around.
She explained what she thought was going on to the Director. It took some explaining of Fandom Island, too, which he apparently didn’t know about, but he finally had the picture.
After taking a moment to cast a few spells over her and then at her Exorcist keys, the Director declared that Shiemi was not in the wrong world. She wasn’t convinced at first, but summoning Nii had been the final proof. Nii knew the Director and was the same Nii that the Director knew.
“And,” the Director had told her firmly, stroking the head of the small green hamster that poked its head out of a pocket of his suit. “I have ways of confirming the identity of the kin of Amaimon.”
By comparing what Shiemi remembered to what the Director remembered, they discovered that it wasn’t just time traveling that had happened. Shiemi hadn’t just traveled back to shortly after the Exwire Training Camp. Things were changed. Things that Shiemi remembered happening had apparently happened differently, like Rin’s trial and the coup in the Vatican. And Rin and Yuki-kun saving Assiah by defeating Satan had simply never happened at all.
Worst of all... her team was still in the fragmented state it had been before the Training Camp. It had even become slightly worse when Shiemi had been sent away, the Director admitted. Fueled by rumours Rin was responsible for Shiemi’s leaving.
Of everything, the condition of her team and the loss of her friends, people she cared so deeply for and had worked alongside of for so long... that was why she had decided to go ahead and join the Exwire mission; she’d be worried, just staying in town or returning to Fandom.
[OOC: Last post for Shiemi, who is going ex-pat while her world goes through its reboot of half of its canon... but she only knows she has to fix her friends. Please feel free to text or email or call while she is on the train :) ]

![]() | “What is this?” Shiemi heard a voice say, and then suddenly the Director appeared before her in a puff of purple smoke. He didn't seem happy to see her. “I sense a little mouse sneaking around my academy.” |
![]() | "D-d-d-director?" Was this world's version of the school's Director mean? Did he not know Shiemi? "It's... it's me. M-Moriyama-san?" He had to, right? At least from the store! A moment more of the dark aura as he looked her over, Shiemi wondering if maybe she had turned into a mouse, being eyed by a very hungry snake... But finally his demeanor changed back into the familiar genial fool she was used to... She sagged a little in relief. |
![]() | "Ah. Yes. Moriyama-san." He didn’t sound convinced, but at least he didn’t sound like he doubted her? If that made sense. “You’re supposed to be recovering from being used as a host for the chuchi at the Training Camp." A snap of his gloved fingers, and a set of armchairs and an elegantly prepared tea table appeared. Shiemi found herself quite suddenly and firmly seated in one of the chairs, a teacup floating towards her. The Director’s nose twitched a little. “I can smell time on you, you know. Who are you really?” |
![]() | “Thyme?” Shiemi took a moment to sniff her hands. “I haven’t handled any recently, though.” |
![]() | ... ... ... |
![]() | “Oh, TIME! You can tell I’m not me!” That was right! The Director really was powerful and had been the one to send her to Fandom Island in the first place! Maybe he could help! “Yes, Yes!! I think I’m in the wrong world!” |
![]() | “You mean... like in the series where *** was just trying to get to the convenience store but wound up summoned to another world and has to deal with *** and *** and his only power is ***?! Or maybe like *** where she builds herself a robot body part by part but she dies before she can connect the last piece only she doesn’t die but she transports to *** and is now an *** and has to save the world? Or like...” |

![]() | “I mean, go on. Please explain.” |

![]() | Shiemi heard more exorcists coming along behind her and so she decided that it really was time to board the train and actually face her friends. Her former friends. Future friends? She stopped in the door of the assigned car, though. There was Rin. Right in front, reading a magazine. |
![]() | She must have made some noise, because Rin looked up, then stood and smiled at her. "Shiemi!!" His voice sounded cheerful as always, but his face showed intense relief and that reminded her again that something was wrong. |
![]() | Relieved. They should be friends! She’d been chasing after poltergeists on that assignment with him only a few weeks ago! "Ah..." This was not going to be easy. She had so many memories of her friends and now none of that was real. Not just with Rin, with everyone! She suddenly wanted to cry. I can't talk to him like normal. Why? What’s gone wrong? |
![]() | Rin’s smile seemed to fade at her delay, and Shiemi’s heart started to pound painfully at the sight. |
![]() | She quickly chose a seat on the opposite side of the train and a few rows back from him. “Sorry,” she whispered softly as she passed him. Right now I just can’t... I'll figure this out, Rin. I promise to fix this somehow. |
