greenexorcist: (Horrified)

Shiemi was from Japan. Japan had typhoons, not hurricanes. That being said, apparently they were the same enough that she was familiar with the preparations and the weather was almost home-like.

Even the idea of fish falling from the sky wasn't too weird? While she hadn't witnessed it, Shiemi had heard of it happening before, and not just fish. And she wasn't even counting the stories she'd heard from Exorcists (because those had been the fault of demons, see.)

So she wasn't as worried and scared as some of the people on the island. She had made sure to reinforce the boarded-up window in their dorm with a few spells she'd learned (just in case this was demons; she'd heard the talking sharks earlier, after all) and moved the plants and valuables well away from the exterior wall. She had a few snacks, now, and was laying on her bed reading a manga she had borrowed.

The window was buffetted fairly regularly, by wind and by debris, but she really paid only the least bit of attention to the thumping and howling. She looked up when she could heard the wood strain, but just with a casual curiosity - more making sure she didn't need to hammer some nails back in or anything than actual concern.

Which is how she happened to be watching as a giant shark suddenly burst in through the window- boards, talismans, curtains, and all.

It took a moment to even register in Shiemi's brain, but then: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

[OPEN! eeek! Shark in the dorm! awoooga awooooga! You'll find that it's dead, but awoooga anyway.]

And Summer, poor Summer, her head already swimming with the whole "Let's freeze them to stop the hurricane!" thing and her party later and not at all totally freaking out deep within, had thought they'd done a pretty good job. It seemed so safe, so secure, so----

"Holygiddamnurghhabbeshii!"

There wrevwords in there, somewhere, but what exactly thry were, perhas only the big ass sharp crashing through their barrier would know.

"What. The. Hell?!?"

It took Summer a few moments before she could do anything but stare in shock and try to fund her breath, so hopefully Shiemi wasn't left imagining what horrible scenarios might have caused thr silence on her roomate's end.

"Y-yeah," she finally managed, with a few coughs. "I-I'm fine. Considering we were almost just killed by a giant freaking shark ."

And then there was a small little "ow," as Summer decided to kick the shark out of frustration, and it was not nearly as squishy as she thought it would be.

"I, uh....I kicked it," Summer admitted sheepishly. "Not my best moment. Not recommended. Not squishy at all."

And then there was another pause, where one could almost hear the anguish silently screaming in the air.

"Shiemi, what are we going to do? There's a shark in our room!"

You know, in case she missed it.

"What? No. Why would we get in trouble?"

But as soon as she said it outloud....

Summer shook her head. "No, no, we can't get in trouble for a shark that's totally not our fault. Hold on, Im coming over there. Even if I have to climb over this shark to dp it."

Which, she was discovering, she might have to.

Gross.

"Are you okay?" It was now Summer's turn to ask, her brain taking its own trip down the possibilities of what could have created such a squealch-scream combination. It didn't really help that climbing up a shark was a lot more difficult than she had anticipated. She was dexterous, but not slimy, rainsoaked shark dexterous, apparently. She failed the first couple of attempts.

"This isn't going to work! We have to do something about this shark. Do...do you think we could, uh....I'm going to try to push it back out the way it came. We have to get rid of it."

"Aurrrrggghh!"

Summer was still going to try to push, whether Shiemi managed to get into a spot to help or not.

Try being the operative word.

"Ohmygod, it smells so..so...fishy." And that feeling! Summer made a slight retching sounds, then groaned again as her feet squeaked on the wet floor as she threw her shoulder into it to hunker down and push as hard as she could.
